Heritage Wood was founded in March 1988 by ourselves (Robert and Wendy Morley), who own and run the adjacent Overberry Farm.
Throughout this period, we have listened to all of our customers comments and ideas, and this has helped guide us in how the wood has been developed for the needs of everyone.
There are now 3,750 trees growing in Heritage Wood and another 265 are ready to be planted, taking the total to over 4000. The wood is now a thriving wildlife area, thanks to people dedicating a tree and contributing to Derbyshire's new woodland.
The lake is around half an acre and was created so that people could come and have somewhere tranquil to sit and watch the ever hungry fish and ducks.
There are picnic tables around the edge of the lake, so that families can sit and relax, enjoying the peacefulness of the countryside
If you decide to visit Heritage Wood, we have provided two car parks, which are both free. Everyone is welcome to visit at anytime. There are no gates and the wood is open from sunrise to sunset. All that we ask is you abide by our few visiting rules.
If you wish to stay longer than a day, we have a caravan club certificated site that is open all year.
